This design was inspired by the patterns of windows in contemporary urban buildings. The minimalist geometric composition also echoes the modularity of contemporary furniture in a sober manner. My purpose using this pattern was to create a sort of mirror surface in the floor that would convey a composite linearity of the elements that are part of the interior space were the carpet is placed and of the light/shadow effects that come from the exterior.

Este design é inspirado nos padrões das janelas dos edifícios urbanos contemporâneos. O padrão geométrico minimalista ecoa também a modularidade do mobiliário contemporâneo de um modo sóbrio. O meu propósito com este padrão é o de criar uma espécie de superfície espelhada no chão, capaz de transmitir a linearidade compósita dos elementos que integram o espaço interior onde o tapete é colocado e os efeitos de luz/sombra provindos do exterior

O Ana Ferreira

Ana Ferreira was born in Portugal, but she is currently living in Tønsberg, Norway. She studied painting in the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and she holds a master degree in Curatorial Studies by the same institution. After having worked as art teacher, she is currently a member of NUPPE (Núcleo de Pintura Pesquisa e Ensino) – a research group dedicated to the study of painting and art teaching of the Federal University of Uberlandia (Brazil).

Ana Ferreira nasceu em Portugal, mas vive presentemente em Tønsberg na Noruega. É licenciada em Pintura pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa e mestre em Estudos Curatoriais pela mesma instituição. Após ter exercido actividade como professora de artes visuais, desenvolve actualmente trabalho de investigação como membro do NUPPE (Núcleo de Pintura Pesquisa e Ensino) – um grupo de pesquisa dedicado ao estudo da pintura e do ensino artístico afecto à Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (Brasil).
